About Us

Meet My Creators

Meet Sheryl Davis, Eric Summers, and Daniel Fiore. I would not be me without them. Sheryl thought it would be great to have someone who could show kids how they can help the environment. She gave me the very important job of explaining why we should all pitch in and do our parts.

She also made me a Superhero!

Eric Summers took Sheryl’s vision and with a little computer magic, he made me come to life, and gave me Superhero status with this epic red cape! Then, artist Daniel Fiore came along and added beautiful ink and watercolor images to our Activity Guide. Thanks, guys!

Between the three of them, The Mystical Magical Abracadabracal Daniel McDougal McDouglas McFly book was born!

Meet The Author Sheryl Davis

I spent most of my childhood climbing trees & building forts in the Piney Woods region of East Texas.

A rich family history of biology-inspired in me such interests as gardening, foraging, taxonomy & bird watching. I am also a licensed Ham Radio operator (KE5QFE).

In the Spring of 2012, along with some friends, I helped throw the sustainability festival, Learning Man in which members of the Austin tribe could exchange skills. In 2015, I worked with the Eco-Community, Quilombo Paixao, to host a successful Educational Expo called Orenda & a Permablitz in Cedar Creek, TX.

I was awarded a scholarship to complete my Permaculture Design Certificate in the Fall of 2014 & have worked on numerous eco-farmlets & non-profit organizations around the central Texas area such as Food is Free, Blue Star Ranch & Thigh High Gardens. I most recently worked with Resolution Gardens where I did garden installations, basic carpentry, light masonry, and landscaping.

For years I have wondered how to make the biggest impact on the world with regard sustainability and environmental health.

I have come to realize that communicating with the younger generations through books, activities and projects is the best way for me to make a difference that counts.

I have been called to practice & teach Permaculture to help catapult the environmental health movement into the forefront of modern society.

Meet Illustrator Eric Summers

Eric worked closely with Sheryl during the book’s development.

“Cartoons have always been a part of my life, a familiar way to express ideas.”

Eric Summers grew up in Westlake, an upper-middle-class bubble in the hills of West Austin.

He spent his childhood exploring his surroundings on his skateboard or bike, climbing trees, building forts, playing with friends and has been drawing since he could hold a crayon. In addition to his illustration work. Eric also teaches parkour, skateboarding and other outdoor sports.

Meet Activity Pages Illustrator Daniel Fiore

After an art-filled childhood, Daniel Fiore attended the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), where he discovered his passion for illustration. Daniel uses gouache and watercolor, as well as mixed media, which consisted of colored pencil, oil, acrylic, watercolor, “whatever medium best communicates the story.”

He especially enjoys creating portraits and caricatures. Recently, his focus has shifted towards children’s book illustration, and he is thrilled to have contributed to this book, which helps communicate such an important message to today’s youth.
